A kingwood burr walnut, tulipwood Bonheur du Jour, c. 1840, by James Winton, London, with gilt metal and porcelain plaques, gilt metal mounts of swagged and tassle drapes, to the top and foliate and leaf wrapped mounts throughout above two cupboard doors with shelved interior, above a concave drawer, the serpentine base with one long drawer on cabriole legs and sabot feet, stamped to the drawer, 127cms x 77cms (50" x 30 1/2"). (1)

Provenance: This Cabinet was given to Doctor Robert James Graves (1796-1853), (President of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland) as a wedding present by the Baroness de Sternberg (1791-1859) - Catherine Augusta Harrison, in the year 1840. By tradition it was in her collection when she Bowness-on-Windmere.
