Six Documents relating to the death of Tom Farrell in Leighlinbridge, Carlow, his brother Percy was charged with homicide.
Containing - Inquest result signed by 12 Jurors and the Coroner Edward Gorman, in which it is stated "there are some doubts that this (death) could have occurred by accident"
Depositions from Anne and Bridget Farrell stating that Tom asked his brother Percy for "a penny to get a cropper of whiskey" to which Percy replied " you are after being drunk today already".Tom died after a hot nail rod which Percy had been using "making a sixpenny nail" pierced Tom's chest.
Coroner's report with several signed witness statements including one from Dr Martin Morriss, who it was claimed was drunk when he arrived at the scene.
Post Mortem report from Surgeon James Porter and his assistant Dr Daniel Tierney.
Recognizance bail bond signed in Dec.1839 by John Mullroney, Publican and Bakery, and Thomas Mullroney, Leaseholder, both from Wells in Leighlinbridge. Printed by T. Kelly, Loughrea, as a m/ss., as a collection w.a.f. (1)
