Letterhead of HMS Atlantic, Channel Fleet.An affectionate letter following a cheque he had sent her for 10 - ?you splendid little child, you are nicer about money matters than anyone I ever met?. He looks forward to seeing her soon, when ?we will go to Coombe and we will have fun? and talk about little Eileen (his younger daughter, then aged 13). He concludes: ?I am a teetotaller & vegetable eater now, & never so well 'Unbesoofen'? (i.e., sober).
