Gregory (Lady Augusta). A worn copy of her Biography of Hugh Lane, 1921, inscribed on f.e.p. to [Fred] Harris – ‘You may remember that it was under your roof that I made the decision to write this book, two years ago – and it is again at Derreen that I write your name in it and offer it to you .. Sept. 16 1921’.
With two ALS on her Coole Park notepaper laid in, August 21 (probably 1919), 3 pp (two sheets), accepting an offer of hospitality at his home in Sandycove, Dublin, and Aug. 30 (1919) thanking him for same. ‘You were very kind to me & made everything so easy & pleasant – the sight of the good houses at the Abbey was also a delight - & I feel that we are on the upward road ..’ With one postally used envelope addressed in Lady Gregory’s hand.
