Yeats (Elizabeth C.), Manager, Cuala Press. A good ALS, 4 pp (two sheets) on headed Cuala paper, Oct. 18 1921, with associated envelope, to Ignatius McHugh of Philadelphia, apparently a librarian, replying to his letter (not present). ‘Yes. I too believe Ireland will do great things if only we can all hold on till the settlement is made -- but you have no idea what it means to run a little industry like this through all these bad times - and you can do a little bit for us & for Ireland if you tell people about Cuala work -- we have held on through all & not parted with a single worker but can not hold on much longer if things do not improve ..’ With a good signature. A note at head of letter says ‘We named the little house Cuala, Cuala was the name of one of the 5 famous roads that led to Tara.’
