Unique Copy with Portrait and Pictorial Message
Yeats (Jack B.) A Little Fleet. L., Elkin Mathews n.d. [1909], orig. wrappers, Presentation copy to Yeats’ friend the poet John Masefield, with whom he used to sail toy boats. With a most attractive signed drawing on f.f.e.p., apparently a portrait of Masefield dreaming of treasure, with a message or story below in what appears to be a pictorial shorthand or storyboard, featuring ships, islands, horses, skull and crossbones, a gallows etc. All the printed drawings are hand coloured, presumably by Yeats.
Very good copy, in a recent cloth folding case with leather spine. (1)
