Cork Interest: An exceptionally fine quality mid-Victorian silver Claret Jug, by Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall, c. 1874, decorated in the form of an Armada Jug, the long neck and trigger lid with 'C' scroll handle, the profusely decorated body engraved and embossed with baskets and swags of flowers, scrolls etc., overlayed with winged figures and central lions head, and opposing inscribed panels, one inscription 'Cork Agricultural Society Show, 1889, First Prize, for Best Sporting Dog of any Class - won by J.A. Russell with Fox-Hound Fery,' the opposite 'Cork Agricultural Society Show - 1889 - 1st Prize for the Best three Couples of Fox-Hounds won by J.A. Russell, Master United Hunt Club,' hallmarked, approx. 41 ounces, approx. 36cms (14") high. (1)
