A series of furious complaints against his bishop, Dr Henry (a zealous “political” bishop, founder of the Belfast Catholic Association), who has banned him from membership of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and threatened sanction against him, even though other bishops have approved of their clergy belonging to the order, and despite the good work done by Fr McKinley locally in uniting two rival factions of the order.
