Lease of Cork Property, with small Map, 1730
Cork City: Indenture on vellum dated 28 September 1730 between John Rogerson, Lord Chief Justice of Ireland, and William Duggan of Cork, shopkeeper. By the terms of his marriage settlement with his now wife Elizabeth [Duggan], Rogerson is empowered to make leases of the estate settled on him in Cork. He now grants to Duggan “all those ruinous houses and a piece of ground on the west side of Mallow Lane in the parish of St Mary Shandon”. The dimensions and bounds of the property are given. *John Rogerson, son of Sir John Rogerson, was an ambitious and successful lawyer. On his death in 1741 his estate was divided amongst his four daughters.
