An Irish George III period mahogany Longcase Clock, the brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, the subsidiary dial for seconds, and date aperture, signed "Charles Morgan, Dublin," the swan neck pediment above an arched dial, with panel door, flanked by fluted half pillar on box base with bracket feet, approx. 93" (236cms) high x 20" (51cms) wide. Moulded cornice detached to one side but present and central carving on swan neck is loose but present. No obvious repairs to the main carcass, and in original untouched condition. Dial the sun and moon phase worn with loose to paint work. As a mechanical instrument, being sold with all faults, works not guaranteed. Provenance : Howth Castle, Front Hall.
