Bond of Murrough O’Brien, Earl of Inchiquin, 1666
Original Document on paper (very fragile) dated 30 April 1666, whereby Murrough, Earl of Inchquin (1614-1673) – the infamous “Murrough the Burner”) and his son William (1640-1692, later 2nd Earl of Inchquin but then bearing the courtesy title Lord O’Brien of Burren) guarantee £2,000 to observe the terms of a lease they have granted to Ignatius French of Galway, merchant, certain lands in Cos Clare and Galway, all listed in detail. Signed “Insiquin” and “O Bryen”.
