For Young People of All Ages
Yeats (Jack B.) The Treasure of the Garden. L., Elkin Mathews 1903, First Edn., 4to illus. card, with hand-coloured cover drawing and seven full-page plates hand-coloured by Yeats. A rare book in its original state, as many of the drawings were cut out for performance on miniature stages, as intended by the author, or for framing. According to Arnold, the story draws on the memories of Yeats’ Pollexfen ancestors in Sligo, who were merchants and ship-owners. An excellent copy. (1)
The third of Yeats’ illustrated books for young people of all ages, published at the substantial price in 1903 of Five Shillings.
