Guinness Building Society File of records of the contributions to the Guinness Permanent Building Society of John Patrick Walsh, Ellesmere Avenue, North Circular Road (described as “painter & grainer” in 1911 census), commencing with his purchase of a share in 1908, continuing with a series of lodgement dockets, and concluding with the payment of a lump sum to his sister Florence in 1938. Includes also the printed record of results of the examination in 1919 for the post of Temporary Boy Clerk in the Civil Service, in which Paul P. Walsh came 93rd out of 100 successful candidates (listing the marks of all candidates, including the many failures!) As a m/ss., w.a.f. (1)
