Sinking of the Titanic An original black-and-white photograph taken from the deck of the Carpathia on the morning of April 15th 1912, supposedly showing the site of the iceberg that sank the Titanic on the previous evening (possibly marked by a buoy, centre left). The photo was taken by Mrs Mabel Fenwick, a passenger on the Carpathia when it was diverted to rescue survivors from the Titanic. Minor damage to right margin of photograph.
Note: This is an original first-generation photograph, privately taken, not a reproduction or a postcard.
Provenance: Archive of John & Nelle Snyder, given to them by Mrs. Fenwick.
