A fine unique photograph showing Sean Mac Diarmada in the uniform of a tram conductor in Belfast, standing in front of a tram circa 1905, approx. 16.5 x 21cm, mounted on card and stamped on reverse, Peter Pan Studios, Belfast. (Illustrated in the definitive recent biography of Mac Diarmada by G. Mc Atasney). V. Rare.
* Sean Mac Diarmada, signatory of the 1916 Proclamation, was born in Leitrim in 1884. He worked in Glasgow and Belfast before joining the Gaelic League and the I.R.B. He was an organiser for Sinn Fein and the Irish Volunteers, and a member of the Military Council which organised the Rising. He was a close friend and colleague of Tom Clarke. (1)
