Battle of Waterloo: A fine enamel and metal French Cross of the Legion of Honneur, with image of Napoleon on obverse & eagle on reverse, and with crown suspender. A contemporary m/ss note with this lot states ‘Cross of the Legion of Honneur found on the Field of Waterloo by Grandpapa in 1815,’ in an associated cont. decorated box. Also includes a good pair of hardwood drum sticks picked up at Waterloo on the same occasion, according to family tradition. An interesting lot. (1)
