G.A.A.: Co. Dublin, The Dublin Metropolitan Hurling Club, a caricature print from the Illustrated Sporting & Dramatic News, March 22nd 1884, oblong 4to, print on reverse, a good clean sample of this print. Scarce. (1)
* Cusack’s most significant achievement in 1882 was the foundation of the Dublin Hurling Club, the direct successor of which the Metropolitan Hurling Club, was the seed out of which the G.A.A. grew in 1884.
* Hurling had originated in Dublin at Trinity College where the University Hurling Club had drawn up rules as early as 1870 (when Edward Carson was a member).

Photograph: G.A.A., Hurling 1956. A set of four various size Press Photographs depicting famous scenes from the 1956 All-Ireland Final between Cork & Wexford, includes:
(A) Wexford full back Nick O’Donnell clawing the ball from defence (reproduction);
(B) Christy Ring (Cork) on the ground after striking and scoring a goal;
(C) Paddy Barry (Cork) in full flight going at the Wexford defence;
(D) The decisive moment in the ’56 Final, when Ring turned the defense and struck at point blank against Art Foley (Wexford Goalkeeper). Foley caught the ball and cleared it. Ring followed into the goal mouth after, shook his hand and said Your’e after beating us you black b****d, all press photos (Irish Press), as a collection, w.a.f. Good. (4)
