Hurling: Poem, [Anon]. A manuscript drinking song Poem, seven numbered verses, each stanza four lines. Written in a clear hand, with some corrections, dated 23rd of December 1784, [The Gaelic Athletic Association was not founded until 100 years later] to quote “But had I each evening on hurl and ball, a green for to play on and drink there with all, a guinea to spend and a girl at my call, I would never desire to be richer,” a truly unique copy of the song as it was originally penned / composed.
